About OECD

OECD Publishing is responsible for disseminating the content of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) whose mission is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.

The OECD brings governments together to share experiences and seek solutions to common problems. OECD doesn’t just work with governments, but also with business, labour, academia and other civil society organisations. OECD analyse and compare data to predict future trends. They set international standards on all sorts of things, from the safety of chemicals to the quality of cucumbers.

OECD looks at issues that directly affect the lives of ordinary people, like how much they pay in taxes. They compare how different countries’ school systems are readying their young people for modern life, and how different countries’ pension systems will look after their citizens in old age.

This information is published in books, journals and data services. All of them are available via the global knowledge base, OECD iLibrary
